Hello Zorra Skating Club Members,

We hope you had a joyous Christmas!  We had such a wonderful and safe start to our skating season, but now we find ourselves having to pause.

ZSC received this direction from the Township of Zorra:

As announced by the Premier of Ontario on December 21st, Zorra township along with the Province is moving into Lockdown COVID-19 measures effective on the 26th. The Lockdown measures include the closure of all indoor recreation and fitness facilities. These measures are anticipated to be in effect until January 23rd at which time Zorra township plans to reopen recreation facilities as permitted and if feasible.

This means that all skating programs are cancelled until we are hopefully able to resume operations on January 25th. If the date for the lockdown is extended, our cancellation will be extended.

We would like to extend a credit to all our skaters for time missed. Please be patient, we will not calculate this credit until we know that we have a date to return to the ice. For those on payment plans, we have deferred the January 1st payment to February 1st. For the few families who had been excluded from participation once the London/Middlesex region entered the red zone, we will issue a credit for the sessions you missed before lockdown. You will find these credits on your account on our website.

The Holiday Ice Show that we had hoped to show virtually on January 7th is postponed. Our Junior/Intermediate/Senior skaters have worked very hard on their solos, so we hope they have a chance to show them off at a later date. As a skating club, we are committed to returning to the ice, once we are permitted to, and we hope it is sooner than later!

Yours in skating,

ZSC Board of Directors
